Purpose of the Programme

Key Responsibilities
As a Dispensary Support Learner, you will:
- Sell Schedule 1 medicines and scheduled substances in line with pharmacy regulations
- Assist with compounding and preparing non-sterile medicines as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support stock unpacking, merchandising, and cleaning of dispensary and OTC shelves
- Learn to interpret prescriptions accurately and professionally in line with the SAPC’s requirements
- Check, label, pick, and pack medications while ensuring pharmacist verification and approval
- Monitor medicine expiry dates and maintain organized stock storage (Schedule 1–5 medicines)
- Assist patients with script tracking, follow-ups, call centre queries, and chronic medication authorizations
- Promote health education and provide accurate information to patients
- Report stock shortages and errors to the Dispensary Manager
- Receive dispensary stock according to company SOPs

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following academic and entry criteria:
- Completed Grade 12 (Matric)
- Pure Mathematics and either Physical Science or Life Science passed
