About the Programme

The Department of Employment and Labour is offering a 12-month Trainee Employment Counsellors Programme to provide graduates with practical work exposure in the field of employment counselling. This programme aims to equip participants with the skills and experience needed to serve work-seekers and labour market stakeholders effectively.

Stipend: Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R7 860.40 .

Requirements

1. A minimum of three (3) years relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or Industrial Psychology.
2. An Honours degree in Psychology or Industrial Psychology will be an added advantage.
3. Preference will be given to candidates registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as:
4. Registered Counsellor (Independent Practice), or
5. Psychometrist (Independent Practice).

Duties

1. Render administrative support services to Employment Counsellors.
2. Conduct research on labour market needs and best practices in employment counselling.
3. Provide and implement recruitment and selection services.
4. Network with stakeholders to verify quality of services rendered.
5. Register and support work-seekers.
