Rand Water Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership 2026 Now Open
Rand Water, one of South Africa’s leading water utilities, has officially announced its Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership Programme 2026 . The opportunity is open to unemployed youth , including five positions reserved for people with disabilities , offering a structured 18-month programme designed to develop future procurement and supply professionals.


This initiative supports South Africa’s National
Skills Development Strategy (NSDSIII) by empowering young individuals with the knowledge and workplace experience required to enter the supply chain field confidently.


About the Learnership Programme

The Rand Water Supply Chain Practitioner Learnership 2026 aims to prepare learners to function effectively as Procurement Officers . A Procurement Officer’s role includes coordinating the supply of goods and services, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and monitoring procurement schedules.
This qualification blends classroom-based learning with practical workplace exposure at Rand Water’s facilities in Glenvista, Gauteng .


Who Can Apply

Rand Water is specifically targeting previously disadvantaged individuals who are eager to build a career in procurement and supply chain management .


Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements :

  1. Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID.
  2. Must be between 18 and 35 years old .
  3. Must have Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematical Literacy and English (minimum Level 4 in each subject).
  4. Must not be employed .
  5. Must not be studying or enrolled in any other learnership or training programme.
  6. Must not hold any post-matric qualification (failure to disclose will lead to disqualification).
  7. Must provide SAQA/NLRD verification (available from the SAQA website).


Additional Requirements for People with Disabilities (PWDs)
Rand Water encourages applications from individuals with disabilities. However, specific criteria apply:
Applicants who are deaf or hard of hearing must provide their own interpreters at their own cost.
Proof of disability must be attached — either a
