PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To perform day-to-day boilermaker activities as specified according to special procedures and requirements.

QUALIFICATION(S) & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

1. Matric/N3 Maths & Science passed
2. Boilermaker Trade Test

Experience:

1. 3 years post trade test in a similar work environment
2. Knowledge of safety, good housekeeping according to relevant procedure
3. Experience in implementation of safety regulations in order to meet legal requirements
4. Able to work independently
5. Must have experience in Fabrication Workshop

Ideal Requirements:

Qualifications: (Same as minimum plus the following)

1. National Diploma

Training:

1. Relevant registered skills programs or unit standards successfully completed

Experience:

1. 5 years post trade test, relevant to the trade

HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:

1. Identify and use measuring, checking, forming, cutting, marking and fastening tools
2. Maintain measuring, checking, forming, cutting, marking and fastening tools
3. Use fixed and portable drilling machines
4. Replace set and ring grinding wheels
5. Operate pneumatic and electrical power tools
6. Use hand operated presses, hydraulic jacks and staging blocks
7. Communication and Engagement of Stakeholders
8. Ensure applicable documentation is completed when doing jobs in certain areas (work orders, clearances etc.)
9. Drive continuous improvement by identifying potential improvements
10. Adhere to SHE standards for safety purposes
11. Perform standby duties as per standby roster and when required
12. Perform shift duties and working at heights as and when required
