Letaba TVET College, in partnership with AgriSETA, has launched a fantastic opportunity for skilled individuals in Limpopo. The Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) Programme is now open for applications for the 2025/2026 intake — with 170 funded placements up for grabs!
What is the ARPL Programme?
The ARPL Programme is designed to recognize and certify experienced workers in key trades who never had the chance to complete formal training. Instead of starting from scratch, your on-the-job experience is evaluated, and if you meet the criteria, you could become a certified artisan in your field.
This is more than just a certificate — it’s a career boost.

What Trades Are Covered?
This year’s programme focuses on five essential trades:
- Plumbing
- Bricklaying
- Carpentry
- Electrical Work
- Motor Mechanics
These are trades in high demand, meaning your certification could open doors to bigger jobs, better pay, and long-term stability.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered, you must:
- Have at least a Grade 12 (or equivalent qualification)
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in your trade
- Not have participated in any learnership, apprenticeship, or skills programme before
- Be able to provide a service letter from your employer confirming your experience
- Bonus: If you’re a former Letaba TVET College student, you’ll get preference
The programme is also inclusive, and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
