Job Purpose
The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to render a registry services.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
- Recommendation
- A valid code B (or higher) driving license.

Key Performance Areas
- Provide registry counter services: Attend to clients; Handle telephonic and other enquiries received; Receive and register hand delivered mail/files;
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence: Receive all mail;
- Sort, register and dispatch mail;
- Distribute notices on registry issues; Render an effective filing and record management service;
- Opening and close files according to record classification system;
- Filing/storage, tracing (electronically/manually) and retrieval of documents and files;
- Complete index cards for all files;
- Operate office machines in relation to the registry function
- Open and maintain franking machine register;
- Process documents for archiving and/ disposal: Electronic scanning of files
- ; Sort and package files for archives and distribution.

Competencies
- A good understanding of the following: Registry duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, and operate computer;
- Legislative framework governing the Public Service;
- Storage and retrieval procedures in terms of the working environment;
- Work in registry
Skills needed
- Proven computer literacy;
- Written and verbal communication;
- Planing and organising;
- Problem-solving.
Remuneration
R 216 417 per annum (Salary Level 5)
