Job Description

PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity exists at Fraser Alexander Zimbabwe, based at the Ran mine site, to ensure that all operational targets and contractual obligations are achieved on time and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping practices and driving operational excellence within your designated area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

1. Punctual adherence to site-specific time schedules and shift handovers.
2. Carry out valve operations, including the opening and closing of valves and deposition of open ends.
3. Perform penstock operations in accordance with standards, including packing, wall dressing, and closing holes and gullies at the dam.
4. Assist with all types of installations, including pipes, catwalks, platforms, freeboard poles (painting), berm penstocks, and maintenance.
5. Any other related jobs/tasks as assigned by a person in authority.

Health and Safety

1. Wear the correct PPE for each specific task.
2. Attend daily safety talks and report unsafe acts or conditions.
3. Follow written and verbal safe work procedures and ensure emergency preparedness.

Basic Inspections

1. Report all defects related to pump stations, leaks, and spillages, as well as conduct inspections of pressure gauges.

Housekeeping

1. Practice good housekeeping around all pumps and valves, including cleaning solution trenches, catchment paddocks, drain rodding (removal of vegetation), and issuing materials from stores.

Timekeeping

1. Accurate reporting of personal timekeeping.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

1. A minimum of three Ordinary Level (O-Level) subjects, including English.

EXPERIENCE

1. No experience required, but should be medically fit as per company standards.
2. Any related experience in deposition and hydro sluicing will be advantageous.

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. Good communication skills, especially in English.
2. Disciplined and hardworking.
