120 Vacancies at Limpopo Department of Education-Apply By 31 October 2025

The Limpopo Department of Education invites suitably qualified unemployed South African youth to apply for Learner Support Agent (LSA) job opportunities for a fixed six-month contract running from November 2025 to April 2026.
These posts are offered in temporary capacity to strengthen school-based and district learner support services across the province.

About the Programme

The Learner Support Agent (LSA) programme aims to provide care, psychosocial support, and protection services to vulnerable learners in Limpopo schools. Successful candidates will work closely with School-Based Support Teams (SBSTs), the Department of Education, and local partners to implement programmes such as
HIV/AIDS and Life Skills , peer education , and
counselling support .
Available Opportunities
There are 120 temporary Learner Support Agent (LSA) posts available, divided into:
School-Based LSAs , and
District-Based LSAs.

Requirements

For School-Based Learner Support Agents
A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
A recognised Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Community Development Work, or Auxiliary Social Work (advantageous)
Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) (advantageous)
Must be aged between 18 and 40 years
For District-Based Learner Support Agents
A recognised Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Auxiliary Social Work, or Psychology (as recognised by SACA)
Two years’ experience working with schools or learner support programmes (advantageous)
Current SACSSP registration (advantageous)
Aged 18–40 years

Job Purpose

School-Based Learner Support Agents
Support schools to render care and protection to vulnerable learners
Assist with trauma debriefing, case management, and referrals
Establish and manage Peer Clubs/Soul Buddyz Clubs
Conduct home visits and prepare monthly reports
Support mobilisation and awareness in line with the CSTL framework
District-Based Learner Support Agents
Implement HIV/AIDS, Life Skills, and Psycho-Social Support (PSS) programmes
Supervise and guide School-Based LSAs
Collect and record learner data to identify high-burden schools
Work with School-Based Support Teams (SBSTs) and community partners
Facilitate peer education and coordinate referral systems

Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Teamwork and collaboration
Confidentiality and professionalism
People management and empowerment skills
